“I kill you” is just normal conversation in Vietnam

Saying “I kill you” in most countries is a death threat. You go to jail for it. But in Vietnam it’s just normal conversation. It means you like the person if you say this. No, really !

Some people see my new “Conversations With My Wife” site and say “Wow, your wife sounds violent. She always wants to kill you”. No she doesn’t. That’s her way of telling me she loves me.

Case in point. A friend on the street showed me this message on her phone with a grimace. I chuckled over it. Then I asked “Who’s it from ?” Scroll down to read her answer.

“It’s from my mother”, she said.

I laughed my fucking arse off ! :D
